The Empathy Map Canvas is a powerful tool designed to align teams with their customers' true needs. By delving into what customers say, think, do, and feel, we foster a customer-centric approach that resonates with the core of Agile methodologies. It's not just about delivering products, it's about crafting experiences that truly resonate with users.

The Canvas is divided into sections, each representing a different aspect of your customer’s experience. Our approach helps you step into your customers' shoes, enabling you to tailor solutions that are not just efficient, but also empathetic.

Quick walk-through of the sections:

1. WHO are we empathizing with? Define the target user, role, and context.
2. Goal: Clarify the users objectives and what they aim to achieve.
3. What do they need to DO? Outline the actions required for the user to reach their goals.
4. What do they SEE? Describe the users' environment and external influences. 
5. What do they SAY? Capture the users' expressed beliefs and declarations.
6. What do they HEAR? Note influences from the users' social and professional circles.
7. What do they THINK and FEEL? Delve into the user psyche, addressing concerns and aspirations.

There are several varieties of Empathy Maps available for use. However, Dave Gray and XPLANE have created a very well crafted version as part of a larger human-centered design toolkit called Gamestorming. This is an outstanding tool to facilitate a session to better understand your customer.
